The Turkish Lira

The Turkish Lira is the official currency of Turkey and has been introduced in the current edition in 2005 under the name of New (yeni) Turkish Lira, divided into 100 New (yeni) Kurus. In 2009 the prefix "yeni" disappeared and the new issues of bills and coins now contain only the word Lira or Kurus. The ISO code of the Turkish currency is TRY.
