The Thai Baht

The Thai Baht is the official currency of Thailand and from 1956 until July 2 1997 had a fixed exchange rate with the dollar, which in the last phase was 25 baht per 1 US dollar. Due to the Asian crisis of 1997, the baht was allowed to float freely until losing half of its value in January 1998. The ISO code of the Thai currency is THB.
